About Sari Sari Sweets

Our mission is to provide delicious sweet and savory pastries made with all natural, seasonal, and local ingredients. As much as is possible, we get our fruit from local farmers and our organic flour from nearby Lindley Mills. Some of our ingredients come from further away. Chocolate and coffee, for example, don't grow in our region. We get our very high quality chocolate special ordered from Germany. Our Ruta Maya coffee is organically grown in Mexico. We strive to use the highest quality ingredients in all that we do.

About Our Chef

Leslie Heintzman graduated from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in 2005 with a degree in Culinary Arts.  She has worked for a local restaurant awarded four diamonds and also a bakery.  After a couple of years in the industry, Leslie decided to take a break from working full time so she could start a family.  She thought that starting her own business would give her more control over her hours and working conditions. Thus, Sari-Sari Sweets was born.  The Carrboro’s Farmer’s Market has turned out to be a great venue for her to sell some of her products.  She has been there for three years now and can barely keep up with the demands of her customers!
